Dear Jen

Dear Cherished Child

Dear Cherished Child,

You don’t have to do anything to make God love you. He already does. He already did, when he knit you together in your mother’s womb. The love of this world can be conditional, but not God’s love. His love is unconditional. There’s nothing you can say. There’s nothing you can do to make him stop loving you.

Live like you’re cherished, child. Dance in his radiant love for you. Or if that seems like too much, curl up in his embrace. Know when you are lying there hurting, his strong arms are wrapped around you. He cares for you deeply, especially when the sin and darkness of this world touch his beloved children.

No matter what you’re going through, God loves you. No matter what’s happened to you, God loves you. No matter what you’ve done, God loves you. Ask him to come touch you in that place that’s hurting. He’s never far away and desires his children to stay close to him. God has miraculous healing power. Sometimes it just takes time.

Know you are deeply loved by Our Great Creator. He’s holding you even now, even if he feels far away. Let him in. Let him into your pain. Parents care for their children. When their children weep, they weep. God doesn’t leave his children when they’re hurting. He comes alongside them, holding his cherished ones in a loving embrace.

Love,

Jen

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

I’m a 77 year old geezer writing another book on prayer. Your article re: adoptionism has caught my attention. It “hints” of some theological training and depth of though.

Thank you for taking the time to write! I wish you the best in your writing endeavors. I hope I am also writing a book at 77 🙂

My 2nd read of yours & it’s very good & most encouraging. Thank you.
We so need to know this in the depths of being.
To be still and know He IS God..to have those abiding times waiting on Him
Someone wrote that the ‘wait on the Lord’ scripture means to ‘entwine oneself in Him’ like a plait of hair.
        This my desire & goal!
But..to overcome the flesh..’the Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak’.
Do you have something written that covers that topic? Is it simpler than I may have made it?

        • Jenna

          Hi Yvonne,

Thank you so much for your encouraging reply. I do not have something written on overcoming the flesh, but it’s a very good topic. I will keep it in mind for the future! Our flesh can be so strong. I think we can use all the encouragement in this area we can get!

Wow. Thank you for the reassurance. I love Jesus so much. He died on the cross for my sins. Many times I feel lost and alone even though I know God is with me. As a mother of 4. I try to stay positive and feel at times like a failure. Or that through prayer I’m always complaining. I am aborn again Christian and am still learning how to be what God wants of me how to live like Jesus and I fail him often but you’ve reminded me that. He never fails me.

    • Jenna

Hi Elisa! I’m so glad you’re living life with Jesus, but you’re right, that doesn’t mean it’s easy. I pray that the knowledge you know in your head of God being with you will make its way down to your heart and you’ll feel our Great God’s loving arms around you.

Dear Elisa..and ‘be still & know that He is God’. That is a scripture..just forgotten where right now.
Ephesians 1 is a great piece to read..have a look on line in KJV then in NLT..we needed to learn tobsit in our early life as a Christian..just to really take in His mercy toward us & the grace of His laying down of His life for us.
I didn’t really have that time & tried to walk before I’ve even got to standing up..this had ongoing doubts & condemnation would come easily.
I encourage you to really know who you are in Christ..read the Wird day by day..even if it’s only one scriptur to ponder on. And talk to Him as you read & throughout the day.
The scripture says that we renew our mind by the washing of the Word.
The blessings of God be revealed more & more surely to you.

Thank you for writing, “Who Was Naamah, Wife of Solomon, Mother of Rehoboam?” I was reading the article and it led me to your website. I was also called by God to become a teacher. I just wanted to let you know that I will pray for you because teaching has been so crazy the past couple of years. I know we are having an impact on our students even though you can rarely see immediate changes in their behavior or thoughts. I always try to think of my favorite verses: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.16 Rejoice always,17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

      Hi Mark,
Thank you so much for leaving a comment, and I apologize for the very delayed response. Teaching has been crazy the past couple of years, and I feel like I’m just getting caught up on life several weeks into summer vacation. Thank you for sharing the verse from Thessalonians. I’ll need to remember that one! I hope you are enjoying your summer break. Blessings to you!
